Reduce your homeowners insurance by having your home inspected -

I just had mine inspected today and my policy dropped 422.00.

Apparently there are many discounts that we are allowed but don't know about because the insurance company doesn't ask us or educate us on how to provide proof of various items which will qualify our home for the rate reduction.

How did I learn about these discounts? Well, I received an invoice for 2010 insurance a few weeks ago and flipped. I called the agent and she told me about this inspection I could have done that would help, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I finally called the guy this morning. He was here by noon. At 1pm the agent called and told me my new rate. The inspection is good for FIVE YEARS!

Tell him you read about him on my blog. I HIGHLY recommend you give him a call. It is well worth the little time and money invested.

The fee is very reasonable... well worth it... guaranteed.

Disney, Give a Day, Get a Day - Yeah EPCOT!

February 6, 2010 Emily and I volunteered with other friends to paint at ECHO. (www.echofl.org) ECHO provides immediate relief in the forms of food, clothing, and household items to people that have experienced a recent emergency. ECHO assists about 300 families per month and has helped over 109,000 members since inception in 1987, over half of them children and all in the greater Brandon, FL area.
Not only did Emily learn painting techniques such as how to use a roller and paintbrush; she spent time with friends completing a task for an important local charity. The reward was a free pass to Disney.
Yesterday (3/8/2010) we took advantage of her being out of school due to Fair Day and headed to Orlando. Destination: EPCOT. This was Emily’s first visit to EPCOT and she had fun exploring the World Showcase where we learned in China that she was born in the Year of the Rat and I was born in the Year of the Dragon. EPCOT is in the midst of their annual Flower and Garden Festival and we enjoyed the butterfly house, intricate gardens, and incredible topiaries throughout the park. She loved the Test Track ride, designing a roller coaster in the EPCOT simulation area, learning about the experiments EPCOT is conducting in the field of horticulture, and the enormous aquarium. This opportunity offered by Disney is a great way to show little’s that when they give a little, they can get a lot - very similar to my experience with BB/BS. I give a fraction of my time but I have gained memories that will last me a lifetime. The weather was beautiful and the park is having their annual Garden event. Topiarys were everwhere. This is one of my favorites:
We lucked out in Great Britian. Pooh and Tigger had arrived and we waited about a minute to join the meet and greet! The wonderful thing about Tigger is.... you know the rest of the words.

In China some genius created mini topiarys of the animals that represent birth years. Emily was born in a year of the Rat. I was born in the year of the dragon.
I loved the dog topiary:

Emily and I were lucky to be able to participate in this event thanks to Joni and ECHO.

We painted (YES, PAINTED!) and area inside the building and in exchange, thanks to Disney, received tickets to any park.

Liz and Scott painted too!
Of course Joni was there!

Steve Morse at the State Theatre 3/5/2010

All guitar, all the time.
Two impressive guitarists and a drummer that knows how to kick a kit. I haven't seent a drum kit like this in a very long time. 9 cymbals and a high-hat... too many drum heads to count... all miked and ready to fill the air with sound.
I've posted some video on You Tube of these guys jammin... I felt like I was back in the 80s watching a show at Hara Arena. :)
there's more and you can link to them if you go to You Tube and click the links to the right of the screen.
