House Concert with Grant Peeples

Sunday, May 27th I hosted a house concert with Grant Peeples.  Grant charmed the crowd and entertained us with his stories and music.  David brought me a beautiful lei he made from plumeria blooms off one of his plants.  I wore it the first part of the evening, Grant is wearing it below.  18 people attended.  Lots of food cooked on the grill.  SANGRIA was a hit (both red and white).  I think there were about 10 of us in the pool.  A fun day and great end to a music and friend-filled weekend.  I can't believe I don't have more photos.  The sangria dispensers were beautiful - fruit filled - and drained dry at the end of the night!

Paul-A-Palooza weekend with Paul Thorn Band

The weekend started Thursday, May 24th with a show at the House of Blues in Orlando.  Suzy and Tom arrived from Asheville and we had fun dancing and singing to the music.  The crowd overall was .. um... dead... I guess that is the best adjective.  Paul's hint to the sitters about their kneecaps was still not enough to get them up and moving.
Friday night we hosted a pre-show dinner with the band in the Skipperdome.  Later Paul performed a solo show.  Maggie Council opened with Amanda Shires playing second.  A fun night with friends.

Saturday we hosted another pre-show dinner with the band.  Cheryl brought a lovely salad.  Liz finished our meals with yummy cupcakes and rice krispie treats.  Beth McKee rocked the house before the band took the stage for a very energetic show.  Everyone was on their feet...and sweaty.  Unfortunately I don't have many photos from the weekend.  Not sure what I was thinking.  Oh, I know what I was thinking... 'have fun!!'  and I did....

Gardens are refreshed today

Can you see the blue in his tail? Skink on the deck

There are a few living in my yard and they are really pretty. Even if they do startle me sometimes. They are fast too. The brown variety make their home here as well. Shiny skinks.

Sun is coming up but we had a long, soaking rain yesterday

Caldiums, peppers, fishtail palm, peace lilies, and more

Elsie and Annie enjoying the damp outdoors today.

South view along deck

Lady Palms, cat's whiskers, plumeria, orchids, cannas, whispy bush bamboo, and more. So refreshed from the rain last night.

Another view

Can ya see the squirrel on the tree? I have a few bird feeders but welcome all seed eaters. Elsie loves to chase the squirrels. Of course they love to laugh and chatter at her. Annie has no idea what it is all about. She chases Elsie chasing squirrels.
