Apple cranberry experiment
This cast iron dish includes the remaining apple cranberry mix covered with pie crust stars. I had made the stars to decorate the top of the fruit pie. However the recipe I later chose included a brown sugar pecan crumble topping and the stars were not necessary. As I was filling the pie I realized I had way too many apples and cranberries - even though the recipe called for five apples and I only had four. Perhaps my apples were larger than what is normally used? I have no idea. I put the pie in the oven and thought about what I should do with the extra filling. Here's my decision:
Cranberry apple pie
This is the first apple pie I've made in many years. I do not remember the apples being piled so high. I didn't even put all of them in there. I have a small bowl of apples and cranberries that I guess I will bake in another dish - sans crust!

Ice dye - beautiful
Every one is so different and you have no idea until the rinse and wash is complete. First pic is of the fabric after ice is melted and before rinsing.

Another Ice Dye experiment - table cover 2
This time I used mostly light colors. There is a little violet and dark green. No black or dark blue. I think I might have some unintentional browns from the dyes blending a little.
This piece also has heart ties throughout. I'm curious to see how they look when done. Tomorrow!
