Taylored Expressions Ray of Sunshine and USA dies - my Happy 4th of July card
Loud thunder and big lightning so Elsie is wearing her thundershirt
And as you can see from the photo, Elsie is very stressed and panting and the Thundershirt is still not working. She's been wearing it on and off for a week now. I was really hoping this would help her. Annie isn't bothered at all by the storms. I will keep it through the fourth and fireworks just to see if it eases her stress a little. If not, I will be returning it. 45.00 each and I've bought two now. Sigh. Poor Elsie.

I finished another hat today
Weird lighting affected the color. The real color is really a blend of the colors shown. Not bright blue. Not slate blue. A blend of the photos. I want to try this hat in a sockweight yarn next.

Another view of knitted hat
The brim rolls a little. I ordered the larger needles and will make another to see if it really makes a difference. This hat is still a little small for my fat head and hair. I know it will fit someone. I love this yarn!

Good Morning again
I thought the pool plumbing was leaking but it is an old pipe that goes to what I have no idea. After two soakings I finally got the water turned off at the street. Yay Me.

2 hours at the eye doctor and 584.00 for new lenses only - no new frames
Yep almost 600 bucks to replace the lenses and I have two more to go... Sunglasses and second pair of regular frames. Guess I will be waiting for a while to change those. Sigh.

Post office big time fail today
I mailed this two weeks ago with plenty of postage. The blank space to the right used to have an ELVIS stamp. Hmmmm. Wonder what happened to that postage?? So sorry Carole, I assumed you'd rcvd this and were happily using the products. Big sigh. Big disappointment in the PO today.

What in the world? Knitting a hat !
At the crown now and had to switch to double-pointed needles. DPNs as they are known in knitting circles. Haha get the pun?
Ok it is late and I'm not a comic.
Anyhoo, this hat is a little small but I'm sure I will find someone who it will fit. I love the colors in this yarn. Will post better pic when complete.

Yarn purchases in St Louis - New Zealand yarn blend with possum fur!
The green and brown blends to the left - Waikiwi - are from New Zealand. They are blends of merino, nylon, alpaca, and.... Drum roll.... POSSUM! So,I had to buy some and will probably make hats with these two. I have no idea. I DO know that I AM NOT allowed to buy any more yarn!!

Bring on the storms - need to test this thundershirt!
Photos below show how stressed Elsie gets during storms (and for works too). I think this may be one size too small. Dang it.

Peanut Butter Chocolate cookies - no flour, no sugar, no butter - baking these today and will report back!
350 oven parchment lined cookie sheets
1 cup creamy peanut butter 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 large egg 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
6 ounces semi-sweet, dark, or bittersweet chocolate, chopped (1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips may be substituted)
DIRECTIONS:
Beat on medium-high speed until well-combined: peanut butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until the sugar is fully incorporated and is mixture is no longer gritty or granular, about 3 minutes. Stop to scrape down the bowl as necessary.
Add the baking soda and beat to incorporate. Add the chocolate and beat to just incorporate. Transfer dough to airtight container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, and up to 5 days, before baking.
Place dough mounds (about 2 tablespoons) spaced 2 inches apart on baking sheets. If chocolate is falling out, roll ball between palms and then slightly flatten the mounds before baking so they don't stay too domed and puffed while baking.
Bake for 8 to10 minutes, until edges are set and tops are barely set, even if slightly under baked in the center. Watch them very closely after 7 minutes. Cookies firm as they cool, and baking too long will result in cookies that become too crisp and hard.
Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 to 10 minutes.
